Perhaps not but most of you wear it religiously, so it is subject to ridicule. Atheists have broken the dictionary! By definition, Atheism is not a religion, but atheists have made it a religion. Some are even 'evangelicals'. Some atheists are hilarious because they spend so much time grinding a huge ax over something they claim doesn't exist. For some, it's an obsession. You, for example. You're kind of obsessiveness about it. How does one become obsessed and angry with something that isn't real?

But you seem to be mistaking the notion of zealously promoting a point of view with a religion. If we followed that logic then there is precious little in this world which may not be considered a religion.

1. there's no proof that gods exist (otherwise we'd all be theists)
2. there's no proof that gods don't exist (they might be lurking around a mountain-top somewhere)
3. in any event, there's no compelling necessity to even postulate gods, and the postulation explains nothing... it merely tries to explain everything away.
4. therefore, I have no gods
