Question to good christians for Trump: How do you support a man like that? [Spirituality & Religion]

A disturbing number of evangelicals supported Trump for president.
How do christians support a such a faithless, adulterous, philandering liar?

Interested in your reasoning.

Hi my friend (sorry, I forgot your name), but we cross paths again :)

To answer your question, the New Covenant (or Testament) knows NOTHING about Christians involving themselves in worldliness, nor does it ever demand Christians to fight the world on it's own turf. God's plan for people is simply this....Jesus Christ. We have just ONE command that says to FOLLOW JESUS, preach the gospel, making disciples, and helping our less fortunate neighbor. It is NOT to bring the kingdom of Heaven to earth in this life. This world and its ways are under the sway of the evil one. To keep this short, here is just one instant in Luke's gospel when the Jewish people came to Jesus to tell Him what was happening "in the news"....

"There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13: 1-5)

Here is something you won't hear too many times, but we are to sincerely pray for Donald Trump. Not that he will pass "Christian" policies, but that God will save him at the cross more than anything.....it's also necessary to point out that God raises up and puts down kings for His purpose, and that purpose is to bring about the time when Christ returns.

There isn't anything wrong with Christians voting, and yes, praying God's will, but we will not beat the world on its own turf. The world and its agenda is hostile to Jesus. Think of it this way....this world is going down like the Titanic and Satan is doing everything to play the humanity card in order to keep people in the state room dancing and dining while the ship sinks under. God is simply about rescuing, not making the sinking ship a better place to be on.

Yes, politics make even Christians mean and untracked. Just note that the scriptures state that judgment begins at the house of God (with us). We need to be sitting at the feet of Jesus listening and learning from and of Him. When we don't do that, you get what you see on the news sadly....which profanes the name of the Lord. When we are doing that, people won't even notice us by our words, but by our actions....there is a vast difference between walking in the flesh vs walking under the power of the Holy Spirit.

Last point.....bad behavior by real Christians and people professing to be Christians NEVER invalidates who Jesus Christ is. No one will be able to go to Judgment and point fingers at other people to try and save themselves. But bad behavior by Christians should more importantly SCREAM WHY we need the Cross. Christians are children of God because of Jesus, not because anyone of us is so wonderful.

In a nutshell though to answer your question, Christians, and professing Christians are making news the way you noted because they are not sitting at the feet of their REAL and ONLY leader, Jesus Christ. We are supposed to show people the kingdom of God, not force it down their throats.
