Are science and religion compatible? [Spirituality & Religion]

There are many religions out there and many creation stories. From what I've seen, many people would prefer to believe their religious texts than accepts some of the findings of science. Discuss.

Some scientists and metaphysivisits would say yes

@MushroomFaerie I believe that a scientist can have religious faith, however, their faith should not inform there science.
@Bushranger well yeah lol but science appeared to disprove, now with more evidence it's starting to look legit.
Scientists are 20 odd years ahead of what has been shared with the rest of us.

@MushroomFaerie I'll preface this by saying I'm an atheist. My feeling is that some scientists get very pissed off by fundamentalists of whatever religion.
@Bushranger That is also a fact, your not wrong but their are millions of scientists and shit out there.
You can research whatever, you can come across certain information and we all put it together in our heads in someway or another.
It almost appears that nobody, contradicting or not are wrong

@MushroomFaerie But in science, there are rules to be complied with. If a hypothesis is made, it has to be tested, tested and retested. If it fails, a new hypothesis is devised. This is unlike a religion, where the tenants are taken on faith.
@Bushranger Yes I know how science works. Your just so far into atheisim your not hearing me.
I used to be there myself

@MushroomFaerie Ok, I'd like to understand your point.
@Bushranger You need to dig deeper into your research and be persistent and open minded

@MushroomFaerie This is something I hear a lot. On the other hand, while I'm personally an atheist, I don't deny that other people have faith. My concern with faith is that it requires you to accept something on, well, faith, without evidence. To me, that is not being open minded.
