Do we as Humans have a soul? [Spirituality & Religion]

I am a Christian but still question if we have a soul, there are lots of Christians out there, and prayed for my mom out loud when the neighbors over-heard me they said out loud "We don't want you there", "you are not a Christian". Anyways I know my rights I can do what I want in my house including my body, If say I would have an outer body experience and saw God and be alive to tell the tale I would truly believe we had a soul, but other people might also ask the same thing so doesn't that cancel out humans having a soul if many would believe we don't have souls?

I mean expiernacing something Holy but looking around there are people who didn't even had holy experience before wouldn't that make my debate false? Luckily there are lots of Christians out there about 2 million so it means we have a soul right:?

Read the Bible, the answers are in there.

@Gumba1000 You don't think perhaps a revised edition to catch up on 2000 years of advancement might be a good thing?

@Quizzical In relation to his question? I don't see how a reinterpretation would be any different in regards to souls described in the Bible.

@Gumba1000 Well, in all this time, and even though experiments have been conducted, and the body thoroughly dissected and scanned by MRI machines etc, we still have found no trace of the soul whatsoever.

@Quizzical You have missed the point of faith, and belief in God. We have not built a machine that can detect God, therefore we don't have the capability to build a machine to detect a soul yet either. I believe in God and all that jazz, but even if I didn't and I am able to think from both sides of the debate. If we haven't built a machine capable of detecting God, then (a science beyond our reach for now) we can't build a machine to detect a soul either.

@Gumba1000 So... The soul isn't a form of energy in any way shape or form?
Gumba1000 · M
@Quizzical I haven't a clue. Considering the Bible was written in a time before anyone had knowledge of energy, us thinking the soul is a type of energy, is just a guess.

@Gumba1000 That's my point... We knew next to nothing then. We know far more now. We've not found this mystical soul, so maybe it just does not exist. If you can't rely on some of the things written in the bible then how can anyone rely on any of it?

@Quizzical Because many events and goings on have been backed up by historical fact. The places mentioned for instance, the censuses, the King's mentioned. I see your point, but if you take my previous answer, then you understand why I can take more of the Bible as fact than fiction.
