Is it exercising freedom of religion for a store owner to refuse service to gays? [Spirituality & Religion]

Like in that instance where a cake shop owner refused to sell a wedding cake to a gay couple on the basis that it was against his religion.

Is discrimination protected by religious freedom?

I thought a shop owner could refuse service to anyone if they wanted. I tell you its the one wedding cake shop that specialises in same-sex marriages that'll end up making a fortune eventually.

That's the problem with living in a so called free society. Every one has a right to be an ass. Even cake shop owners. @Celine
