I think you are probably right !
Man took an interesting idea and then decided to instill a sense of fear into those who disagree with their ideology.
Then came those who saw they could exploit it !

Tell that to Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Zedong, Kim Jung Un, and others who needed no religion and have killed over 110,000,000 people.

@SW-User what about the Crusades, or pedophilia in the church, or Jim Jones & Guyana? All religion-based atrocities.

yes religion is needed.. it has helped a lot of people turn their life around.. good and bad is suggestive as you can do good and bad with or without religion people dont do bad things just because of religion.. because people do bad things without religion its just human nature..

And people do good things without a domineering church to guilt & shame them into "good" behavior. Doing good & right is also inherent in humans. @SW-User

I do think our society needs a strong, binding set of principles that make us brothers, that defeats the fear of death and makes us confident in our own culture so that we may fight back against Islam.

Islam is a religion too. The problem with religions is their tendency to want to eradicate OTHER religions. Life is way more complicated than just fighting another religion.@pianoplayingsteve

@Imaginethat So, you don't think Islam is of any particular threat?
