I Wish Some Songs Didn't Mean So Much To Me

I Want Candy...
I grew up with 70's/80's pop radio so what can I say? Sassons they say soooo much...lucky for me I've been on a mission to explore the fringes of sound for a few decades now,but I still get a bit flattened by many of the songs which remind me of my last heartbreak-even after1 year plus of accceptance(?) and going it alone, life's not fair.
"institutionalised" by Suicidal Tendencies remains one of my childhood favorites, and Pete Townshend can still start the tears now and then-who else would pen such lines as"it's clear to all my friends that I habitually lie..."
Lou Reed has been known to do a bit of soul searching also...I'll be your mirror, endless cycle, wild side...
and all those fine 60's warhorses co-opted into commercial association-is nothing sacred?
when I listen to "moses, moses" by Prince Far-I... I just want to send all the food I can to starving babies, seen?
I'll keep fighting the good fight,in my own little way,musically...a sad world in which artists rather than politicians carry the torch of freedom and justice...?

"Moses,Moses?"glad you asked. yes,a true heartbreaker from the great Far-I aka:the voice of thunder..."the night were dark and lonely, the wind were whistling wild, the widow had no food to claim for her crying child-she did not have one penny to buy a slice of bread, and she had sold her wedding gift to keep the young one fed..." it goes on,you can find it on the Virgin frontline comp. if you seek it-just a small example of a song which hits me in mi gut.
