Yes. And it happened to me and it was such a delight and I believed them unconditionally.

Depends on the song, who dedicated it, and what they might have said in the dedication.

I have dedicated songs to people for whom I had no romantic designs and I think they understood that.

Yeah. There is a song that reminds me a lot of my father who's gone. The lyrics are very nice & touching. It talks about missing someone you dearly love. So every time I listen to it, in my mind, I dedicate it to him.

There is one part that could be interpreted as romantic — which I just mentally block and un-hear.

Yeah. I don't know if I am too naive or trusting, I seem to take people at face value.
Until I get close to them emotionally... then something happens.

It depends on other signs too, but just a song doesn't imply romantic feelings indeed. A guy on here every once in a while sings a song for everyone who replies to his offer and he dedicated several to me, but I never suspected any romantic feelings.

It would strongly deppend on whom, the known reason and the song.
Happened to me on some few ocasions, from friends whith whom we share a history of strong experiences. No romantic context then nor there.
Other situations MAY be ambiguous.

It depends on the person, if it was one of my friends then yes, I tell my friends I love them - it’s completely platonic

if they said they had no romantic designs and were sharing only as a friend, i'd have no choice but to believe them.
