I Love A Good Cover Song

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-69hE5aLdX4]
"Tubular Bells" (Exorcist Theme) - Steve Bingham

This is an awesome version of the memorable theme song from the hit movie, The Exorcist (1973).

The original song was excerpted from an album by musician-composer Mike Oldfield and was itself a hit in 1974, reaching #3 on the charts in Canada and #7 in the U.S.

I happen to think British violinist Steve Bingham's arrangement is nearly as good as the original.
So soothing yet pensive. 😍 Although I've never seen that movie, I liked this cover. There's so much drama and emotions towards the end!! Noice....

@Vivaci Very pleased you liked it. I found it pretty moving myself. 🌷
@Rutterman It's a beautiful piece, and it reminded me of that old Sherlock Holmes series for some reason. Thank you for sharing!! 😚

@Vivaci You're welcome. 🤗

I heard the song before I ever saw the movie. When the movie came out, my mom (quite rightly, IMHO) said I was too young to see it.

@SmartKat I wish I hadn't, 🥺it was awful!
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@SmartKat @Peaches For some reason, I didn't find the movie all that scary or disturbing. The fact that I read the book it was based on before I saw the movie may have had something to do with that.
Peaches · F
@Rutterman I found it very disturbing, especially when she was stabbing herself in the crotch with the cross.😖 I was never scared though.

Yes, 🎻👺🎼the song STILL gives me the chills!!😳You picked the right time of year to post this one.😜
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Peaches Oh, I forgot about Halloween. Lol. 🎃 😱
Peaches · F
@Rutterman LOL! 👻🤣

@Fungirlmmm Yes, I think so too.

It was actually released in 1973 and Virgin Records Frist record
This is good but no way as good as M Oldfield's
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@England66 The version used in the movie was released as a single in early 1974.

Haven’t heard this song in forever. Loved it then. still love it now
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@SagePoet It's nice that it hasn't been played too much over the years. Still sounds fresh, unlike some other pieces of music from the past.
