It wasn't disrespectful. I thought she was Canadian for a long time but she did the song good.

@Trekker Jewel lived off the grid in Alaska with her family......she decided to leave and strike out on her own and lived out of her car until she made it big with her first album. She's an amazing and strong woman....

@Trekker She's from alaska. You know that show, Alaskan Bush People, about the Kilcher family living off the land in Alaska? That's her family. She guest stars on the show sometimes.
