It's always the music that hooks me first.

Music by far. I might be drawn to a song because of the lyrics but that doesn't happen as often as being drawn by the music. I actually even like some songs despite hating the lyrics. I just sort of ignore or not personalize it.

99.99% of popular music have not one jot or tittle to their lyrics that I can relate to, so it is the music itself always. An instance where the lyrics are something special would be Desired Constellation by Bjork.
