Buffalo soldiers was a term used by Native Americans for black US army members and regimes in segragated days. The term then became adopted by the army and general public.


The song by Marley is in reference to that and how they most often joined the military to become freedmen( stolen from Africa. Fightjng in arrival. Fughtjng for survival).
