Whitney Houston is THE GREATEST VOCALIST OF ALL TIME hands down Her voice was so powerful yet unbelievably dynamic and beautiful

If a trusted few human beings can make angelic music, who are we to rank them?

Maybe but there are others that are good to. Idk who is really the best. I will always love you, but she was definitely great. So is Celine Dion and Adele. I think Stevie Nicks was great also.
@Jonjdw I'd even add Linda Ronstadt to that fine list!

She’s one of the best that’s for sure.

Its so sad what happened to Whitney. . As soon as I heard she was dating Bobby Brown, I just knew she was headed for trouble. I thought what is a classy, sophisticated lady like Whitney doing with him?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Jenny1234 I guarantee you she was abused by guys like him her whole life. When it becomes normalized, people tend to seek it out when they realize they don't want it.

That is what I call "caterwauling." Painful to listen to.

Nice sound. And very good control. Her voice wasn't .... abrasive when high. I liked that.

You mean she's your favourite....
LaLa81 · 41-45, F
@ArishMell @ArishMell yes. She is my favourite
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@LaLa81 I made that comment because usually a post like yours is met by a great long list of other people's favourite pop-singers / songs whether or not adjectives like "greatest" or "best" really mean anything. :-)

She was very very good, but not to be placed above the likes of Ella, Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, and Freddie Mercury. I'd even rate Amy Winehouse, Ann Wilson and Annie Lennox higher. That said, I wish Whitney were still here making music, and Amy too.

I'll see your Whitney Houston and raise you "Weird Al" Yankovic.

He can sing like Whitney, Johnny Cash, and pretty much any other artist you can name. And he does it all in the same night.
Whitney was good for her genre, but that is Dolly's song dedicated to Porter Wagoner.
