@IJustWantToSleep: I would never trust anyone who said they trust no one. I'd rather be proven wrong a thousand times, and still believe that there are good and decent people in my world.

For example my friend borrowed a 2TB hard drive ,it was a gift from a special person.
It was beautiful white shiny like a Pearl and after few days they gave it back cracked dirty with scratches everywhere , it still working but its freaking ugly now.
People call u on the phone n say they will be here in 20 minutes and arrive in 90 minutes.

@IJustWantToSleep: yes I get it. It's happened to me. People have said I'll be there soon. I didn't know that they mean soon after the next full moon, or soon after my other friends. I do dump people who are users. I'm very sorry about your 2TB hard drive. That's heartbreaking and it can't be replaced because it was a gift from someone else. That person would be garbage in my dumpster too. I probably wouldn't ever loan anything that was a special treasure to even my most trusted friend or family member, not because of mistrust, but because even the people with the best intentions can lose or break things, and as willing as they might be to replace them, it's just not possible.
But it doesn't stop me from trusting new people or old friends. I'm simply more careful. And I don't accept their word for anything important, until they have proven that their word means as much to them as mine means to me.

@IJustWantToSleep: agreed. Don't lend anything you're not willing to give away, including money. I'll lend, with the understanding that they are to pay it back, but if I can't afford to give it, I don't lend it.....except to people I know I can trust, and in my case, that's mostly family.
