I'm really trying to figure out my friendships around here

And I conclude to what I have overheard, two older male friends saying, back in Greece... they were saying in a general context that "we (men) have scared them (women), look at them and how they're worried" ..so I find this to be true now, I see how I am scared of men. How i am double guessing their intentions. Should I trust, should I not trust? It's a question that's coming up again this evening.

Its a problem that has been with us since humanity started. The other day i was thinking.. maybe the best part of being a guy is i can go anywhere anytime day or night, with only shorts on no tshirt even and no one will bother me. In any way really. But this just isnt a thing women can do. Of course all this is compounded by the fact you are in another country, police or no police service is a ? And the populous speaks another language, you dont have places you know are safe, friends and family around, you dont know the culture or even those people of a similar culture around you, so my only question for you is, why wouldn't you be nervous and suspicious? I mean? Doesnt that seem to be a natural response for being where you are right now?
