Maybe as men tend to show less some emotions, we are led to believe they are coping better with adversity, but that isn't necessarily true. I think men generally have a stronger sense of ownership (reversely women tend to feel they belong to their environment rather than the other way round), which can be a shield for the male ego, but which can also backfire as a sense of entitlement.
