I believe that almost everyone is in their survival mode. Part of that survival mode is denial, delusion, illusion and all such that leaves no room for complete self awareness. From that point most people don't know themselves, or know what they need or not need. There is an unconscious force driving them which is almost always sabotaging.
How can they be trusted with responsibility for someone elses heart?
It is not that they choose to be untrustworthy (most), it is that they're incapable of it.

@SW-User Some are caoable - others are not. But it would be nice if they didn't lie and pretend otherwise while it was convenient.
