I often wonder what trolls are like in real life when they can't hide behind anonymity

What goes on in someone's life that prompts them to act like this, when they can't hold a simple conversation without feeling the insecure need to take it in these directions.
My wtf SW moment of the day.

Generally speaking, it seems to me that many so called "trolls" tend to make someone feel uncomfortable in their own skin, or the so called "troll" states a truth that someone is running away from. Then that someone hangs a troll label on an individual to make themselves feel better. Just my observance.

Or think they are while the other person laughs and thinks 'wtf?'
I'd call it insecurity: the need to lift up oneself by putting someone else down. And it's easy to do when you're not standing face to face.
People who are secure in themselves don't need to do this.
@robingoodfellow Well, that's the trouble with the internet. Everyone "thinks they are" one thing or another. Self unawareness is rampant on social media, especially among the self righteous.
