And there's also Peggy Flanagan who is the first Native American woman to serve in the Senate and even Nebraska elected their first Latina to serve the state in Congress. Overall, 17 women were elected Governor which is a new record. Well done America.

This actually made me a bit emotional, like it’s restored some of my faith in the American pubic. Of course it’s also sad that it took so long for women to rise to these positions of power but I’m gonna choose to look on the bright side for a change.

It's interesting to compare the faces of these proud women with those of Trump's White House bunnies.

I feel tempted to say "Welcome back to the civilized world, my American friends"
