A Question For Women...

Would you be offended by a person who wants to promote Matriarchy? This person has sexualised women being in control of society however they aren't necessarily fantasising about being sexually dominated they are fantasising about a World in which women have control, where men's opinions hold no power and that men must treat women with the upmost respect... basically women have all the power but instead of it being limited to sexual acts it actually becomes a way of life.

I have this desire to promote female power but I am actually curious to how females see this idea so another question would be what do you think of matriarchy?

It's not offensive if its just sexual fantasy but it would never work in reality. Men and women both bring different ideas and skills to the table. Life is better if we respect each other and work together.

@SW-User I can agree with team work makes the dream work but I suppose my brain is just wired weirdly.
SW-User
@Misanthropic me too, I like my man in control but I realise not every man can be trusted or responsible enough to rise to the challenge. It's the same with women. Sometimes things work just in personal relationships or fantasy ☺️
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
I definitely would like it to be a societal thing but I hadn't really considered that a lot women actually enjoy the male to take the lead.
Im not a sexist. I don't hold one gender over another for power
I think you are just trying to flatter them.. @Misanthropic
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
@SStarfish No, I could explain why I am this way and it isn't too flattering I admit but I have no desire to be favoured.
Miram · 31-35, F
I know people like that. Guess that to be expected with my background.

I don't have a problem with matriarchy nor patriarchy that are in small contexts and with the informed consent of those under such systems.

In large general scale, yes, I would oppose it. It wouldn't work. Because it would simply be unrealistic and will require the sacrifice of the minority needs.

Now as a fantasy, you said "sexualized", that means it is sexual fantasy that doesn't include direct sexual dynamic. I would find it problematic if it is obsessive in nature and seems to affect daily functioning, and also in cases where it implies some sort of regular fulfillment.
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
@Miram I'm not certain why people think it isn't practical as societies have survived patriarchy but I agree that equality is optimal, as I say to others I'm just wired differently.

I have sexualised female dominance and I suppose eventually it wasn't enough so I incorporated it into my attitude on a non sexual level as well.
Miram · 31-35, F
@Misanthropic

You might not be wired as differently as you think. There are contexts where matriarchy is normal or being normalized.

Both, my mother's and father's tribes are matriarchal.

Patriarchy in large scale isn't good thing. It was forced and caused a great damage in many lives including mine. I grew up away from the extended family and was exposed to religious and political patterns of control due to my father's choices and my mother's.

While I take on many leadership roles outside the home, I am more comfortable having my partner in charge of everything related to us and our home.

You will find someone into your preferences, it is rare but possible. I have been in dominant role too at some point.

Matriarchy works brilliantly in animals.
It would be amazing for human kind too but there is a lot of trauma in the feminine to heal first before it can be functional.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@SW-User as i said it depends on the definition. Lionesses are on charge of their young, but poppa is the lord. We saw that in action when we were on safari. Take a look at my safari photos on my profile page albums.
SW-User
@samueltyler2 There is a difference between leading and protecting. The males of the matriarchy based animals are the protectors. Lionesses are in charge of a lot more than their young.
And I don't know what you could have seen in action during a safari. It is not like the lion sits on a throne waving to its tourists declaring his lordship, or goes around declaring how good and mighty he is.
Animal males never felt insecure of threatened by their females and never had a need to suppress the feminine. Like humans did. And animals thrive, especially without any human intervention.
Humans on the other hand.....

Btw, I go for animal safaris 3-4 times a year. 🙃 And I follow a few lion pride documentaries. All of this is beside the point because, none of any of this conversation invalidates my initial point. All it tells me is that you're not for matriarchy and that is fine, your opinion. Which could have been made to the asker of this question separately.🙏
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@SW-User i think you are agreeing with me. It doesn't really matter. I have never understood while males have dominated, or tried to, human society. Something must be in the gene pool.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I think it’s an understandable trauma response to want that given all the harm patriarchal societies have caused and that we as a species haven’t really tested out what would happen if matriarchy was the predominant culture, but I don’t think further imbalance is the solution.
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
@WhateverWorks I'm not one hundred percent sure it is a trauma response but there's a lot of truth in patriarchal societies causing damage and that matriarchy has never really had a turn in human civilisation (as a predominant culture).
No bias.

If only, both genders could understand and accept each others' Need & importance - would be Enough for a Beautiful and Prosperous Nation.
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
@sspec There always seems to be a power struggle and hierarchies
@Misanthropic That's why, If only.
SW-User
No I couldn't care less. It's actually hilarious
SW-User
Kinda reminds me of PowerPuff Girls. The whole concept of male submission is amusing to me @Misanthropic
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
@SW-User Is it amusing because it seems unlikely or out of place? I imagine that to be why some would find it amusing. I vaguely remember watching that show when I was younger actually lol.
SW-User
It's more likely behind closed doors bc of social norms/pressures/expectations. I kinda have a weird sense of humor so I can't pinpoint why exactly I find it funny. Sorta feels out of place yeah and also cute if the guy is meek like a lamb, lol @Misanthropic
Naw. Just balance it out.
Misanthropic · 26-30, M
@BrokenAbyss Makes me think about how a majority of the strong or reliable figures in my life are female.
