I think we can't put numbers/percentages on this, nor attribute it to one's gender. I don't believe in generalizations.

A large majority of people won't give anybody anything for free regardless of the gender. Those men who try to help usually do it with a ulterior motive to get something out of it for themselves, typically sex.
