If a woman makes constant reference or comparisons to an ex (esp who is deceased) would you think that's a red flag?

I'm getting this atm from one ive been chatting to and have met in person once. She lives a fair distance from me. Meeting her was really nice and positive for me as a person for whom positive dating experiences have been mostly negative.

Every thing thats troubling to her seems to become a trigger to refer back to or compare with experiences involving her deceased ex who i believe passed 2 or 3 yrs ago. I know the first name but nil other detail of the man.

At present it's just a pink flag but its getting darker pink towards full on red and i'm concerned that romantic link that develops will be always in the shadow of her former partner.

What are your thoughts?

Maybe be a good friend and fill her thoughts with you. It’s a struggle to reinvent relationships when someone has passed. If you like her, give her time to heal. Soon enough her thoughts will be refocused on you.

She doesn’t mean it as a personal affront. Be kind. Your only job is to sweep her off her feet. Time will heal the rest. He’s not a threat to you.

@Adogslife I think she's a really awesome person overall.

@zonavar68 You only live once. Go for it. 👍🏻

You are being given her shopping list. Have you considered giving her yours.. (BTW. This is my pet theory as to while tension exists between wives and mothers in law. Mum has established the benchmarks..And generally not set the sons benchmarks for performance high, leaving the wife a lot of work to train him.)😷

I think she may not be over yet.

@zonavar68 Right, and honestly, death is something that can take a while to get over with. Unless they didnt have a strong bond.
