Mmhm. It feels like trying to force by compulsion or micro manage others to behave a certain way, not by sincerity.
Makes one wonder if they are trying to hide their true nature or can't handle real humanness.
"Sometimes the louder a person claims sainthood the bigger the horns they are hiding”.
Real kindness is actions and behavior from the heart, not preaching it.

@Magenta totally agree with you. Be kind and hope that others will follow your example.

Preaching yes.
Showing it in action is what matters.

Yes, the feeling someone is trying to control me
Toxic positivity always raises a red flag. Nobody is genuinely nice and polite all the time.

@RoguishEyes Indeed. Those are fake af.

If the person fails to practice what they so enthusiastically preach, yes. But if the preacher is unfailingly kind themselves, it could be that they don't realize that leading by example is far preferable to beating people over the head with their message.
Fluffybull · F
Yes. Especially this idea that people should "forgive" those who have done someone unspeakable like murdering someones child. Why that f**k should someone like that be "forgiven"??????
Umile · 41-45, F
@Fluffybull That is such a complicated topic. But. I can understand a person not wanting to forgive that.

Have a sister who does it on FB and she can’t look at herself in the mirror while she does it.
Umile · 41-45, F
Somewhat.
It's best when a person states it, but shows it with action more.

Preaching? Yep without a doubt. The real kindness is a lifestyle not a sermon that's meant to virtue signal or condemn others. And kindness is way more than words too. Any tongue can spew saccharine.

@Earldoesit Ooh snap. Why do I feel triggered? It's alright. If someone doesn't think that I'm kind or honest, nothing I can do about it.
Earldoesit · 61-69, M
@Umile Eh my commentary had nothing to do with you. 💐

It’s a red flag 🚩 if someone is “preaching” period full stop.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
There are many types of red flags. Some are far worse than other red flags. It depends on the severity of the red flag, that depends on the outcome.
I don't give that red flag much weight.
Someone talking about murder all the time is a serious Red alert flag that comes with a repeating air raid sound!

I let actions speak louder than words.

Yep. It's like an immature or spoiled child that says wa wa I can't handle anything that doesn't placate and flatter me.
Umile · 41-45, F
In a sense.
eventtemple123 · 22-25, M
Yes. Genuinely kind people do preach it, just in small doses. If they are constantly doing it, they *definitely* have some kind of superiority complex.
CestManan · 46-50, F
The red flag for me is when people preach about respect.
