This is for the men. What's the biggest red flag in a relationship for you?

For me, it's dating a single mother. I'm not gonna be a sucker or a simp to even be in that situation. Not my child, not my problem.

Harsh much

You’re a red flag
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@GLITTER It's not being harsh, it's reality. If you're offended by this, then YOU'RE the red flag. 🤷🏾‍♂️
GLITTER · 36-40, F
@xSiFiGamer2016x not really, you’ve generalised something for all “single mothers” without thinking of any individual situations

You’re the red flag
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@GLITTER Again, you're offended because of a preference. And what made you think I haven't thought this through? I've talked to one of my parents before and she told me not to date them, even after I knew that at a younger age. And yet, I'm the red flag? 🤣💀😆

And generalization is pretty important, you should know this. 👌
@GLITTER True.
@GLITTER His name says it all, a basement dweller.

@xSiFiGamer2016x I’m not offended by your preference, I’m just calling it out, you can do what you want with your life and if you chose to love narrow minded that’s your choice 🤷🏼‍♀️
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@GLITTER It's not narrow minded if I have common sense. 🤷🏾‍♂️
GLITTER · 36-40, F
@xSiFiGamer2016x this is not a moment where you are displaying common sense
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@GLITTER So, I gotta accept the role of being a stepfather KNOWING she had a kid from a different guy? That's crazy.
@xSiFiGamer2016x With that attitude you'll never be more than a step, with the proper attitude you would be called Dad, and more respected than their own biological father.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 That's in your life, keep that in mind. 👌
@xSiFiGamer2016x Life is all in your attitude towards it, with yours you won't get far in it.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 I mean, if that's what you think then that's what you think. At the end of the day, you don't know me and never will. 🤷🏾‍♂️👌
@xSiFiGamer2016x Call it 53 years of life experience and the observation of others from living and working in different states.
@xSiFiGamer2016x Doesn't know you but you left a lot of clues. Gamer, in Moms basement and would'nt/couldn't be responsible for a child.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 Good for you, it doesn't really apply to me. Your experience is different from mine, but I make sure I'm careful in the things I do in life before I make a mistake I'll regret forever.
@Pitchblue My thoughts exactly.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@Pitchblue But that's what they think to assume I'm not fit for being a father. Regardless of what they say, they just don't know me. They can get the idea, but they're not psychics.
@xSiFiGamer2016x Do you want to know how I gained respect with my late Fiancee's younger teenage son? I took him to a shooting range on his 17th birthday after I had been with his mother for a few months. He was homeschooled so I taught him real history and civics, took him and his mother to all types of museums, both cultural and scientific, I wasn't afraid to answer his questions. Before long he started calling me Dad and Pops, I stepped up to the plate.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 I get that you've stepped up, but I still stand on my preferences. Your choice is yours, my choice is mine.
@xSiFiGamer2016x Even though my Fiancee died in 2010, I am still in contact with him, and at 38 he still asks me for advice on things.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 22-25, M
@NativePortlander1970 That's good and all, and I'm sorry that your fiancee died. Truly, I am.
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
@NativePortlander1970 For a second I thought you meant the 17 years old father, happened in one of my cases.
@scooogy No, he was turning 17 and for his birthday I took him to the shooting range, renting a Beretta 9mm and getting three boxes of cartridges, for a total of 150 rounds, he turned out to be a natural after I gave him some pointers.
