Our online data will always be vulnerable to hacking

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-07-02/qantas-cyber-attack-significant-data-stolen/105484720

Seems no matter how much security is provided, our information it will always be breached.

The Australian government seems keen to make it worse. I read today that there are plans to require search engines to demand proof of age in Australia. Which will mean yet more organizations having your credit card number.

@GusmanTo make it effective they will have to ban vpns as well. Not to mention that they will have to block non-complying search engines. I can't imagine EU based search engines with no presence in Australia bothering to comply; in fact it might even be arguable that they couldn't legally do so without consent of the user.
