Focusing on gratitude
I appreciate all the people who try to make things a little easier for me when I am out struggling with my autistic four year old (who is having his sixth meltdown of the day, and its only lunchtime).
The lady who picked up my glasses after my son punched them off my face while flailing, the lady who brought my son a tube of bubbles to blow to try and calm him down, and all the people who smiled instead of grumbling when I apologised for my sons screaming...I am grateful. Thank you to the old man, who had enough on his plate with all the pain he seemed to be in but still took the time to make me laugh.
Thank you to the lady who smiled and said hello.
Thank you to anyone who tries. It doesn't have to be a lot, so please never think that you don't do enough to help in the world. Sometimes it's enough just to not make things worse, though if you do have more kindness to give...it's noticed too. Anyway...just...thank you.
