I hate how packed the gym has been lately. Makes me mad I can barely get on any machine

Seriously no matter what time of day I go there's too many people. I can't get on half the machines I want to get on. I'm lucky if I get a treadmill that's open enough so I don't directly have to be right next to someone because that's awkward I like to leave an open treadmill between me and someone else. I haven't been able to do abs in awhile because well the machines for those are always taken and whenever I see it open and head over someone else plops down so I say whatever and forget it

@apersonnamedit I don’t blame you tbf. You pay all that money and can’t use anything
apersonnamedit · 26-30, T
@CultOfPersonality Yeah there's no point in really going if I can't get on anything. I'm not going to stand there and look dumb waiting on machines.

It is the scourge of the "January joiners". They will lose interest soon and the gym will return to commited members!

It's the "New Year's Resolution" people. Don't worry, they will be gone by early March at the latest.

@HoeBag Maybe for the people on the new USA mandated food rations of 1 piece of chicken, 1 piece of broccoli, 1 (small) tortilla, and 1 of something else. For everyone else, by early March.

@MarkPaul I do not get the whole resolution about "I am going to start going to the gym" deal anyways. I mean they never had motivation nor energy before, what makes them think the "time and motivation fa*ry" is going to cast a magic spell?

Plus the gym often wants people to sign a contract that is a PITA to get out of cause yeah people soon quit but then still have to pay.

We all think we are going to transform our lives but soon give up because of laziness.

@HoeBag Well, that's the very basis of a New Year's Resolution. Create an aspiration you have no intention of working towards, but in the moment feel good that you can tell others you plan to achieve without ever putting the effort to build the discipline to follow through on.

60% of revenue for most gyms come from members who have signed up for automatic monthly deductions for the membership fee (for a reduced rate) and never actually use the gym and forget they are paying for a monthly subscription.
