Why is it so hard to use blinkers?

Where I'm from, I'm convinced they give driver's licenses out to anyone. 😑

With the growth of electric vehicles that we are all supposed to buy and allow to drive around autonomously stores have stopped selling blinker fluid and blinkers/indicators are becoming 'redundant'. Similar to headlights, and brake lights. ;-)
