I trusted the stories a whole lot more under the old format.

TBH I don't think the admins even want us to post stories anymore, only quick hit meaningless dribble one liners.

I'm usually looking at the user name, story title, the category it's and if there's a content flag to weed out the fets I don't want to participate in or make myself a target by commenting.

I think a lot of what gets written here should be taken with a pinch of salt. The distinction between reality, fantasy, and outright bullshit is often blurred.
