I Need to Rant

STORYTIME: beginning of last year I met a guy through my bestie. We would always hang out, the three of us. He was cute, funny, and outgoing but I was more shy around him. Before we’d actually hang out he’d flirt with me but I would take it as a joke bc he’s very goofy so I didn’t think he was being serious. Few weeks pass and my friend is like girl he keeps telling me he likes you and I was like whatever but the more we’d hang out the feelings grew. One day he asks me to go to a football game with him and I’m like sure. I meet his crazy, loud friends and the whole time they are questioning me I’m feeling uncomfortable and I stay reserved bc at this point I’m annoyed. One of his friends whispers to him “is this the girl you were talking about?” For some reason I felt offended aha (idk) anyways were cuddling and holding hands then I get a sudden rush of butterflies traveling through my arms and stomach whenever he held me tighter or rubbed his hand on my shoulder. It was a weird night but I loved being with him. The next day I went out of town for about 4 days. Sadly my charger broke and I could barely get to a charger (my sister hated sharing). So I barely talked to him I was like it’s just 4 days oh well. When I got back I was so excited to see him so we planned to hang out and he ended up saying he was busy... I knew something was up. My brother tells me he asked him if I ever talk at home which I found weird. That night he texted me “I’m done talking to you.” I felt so embarrassed, shocked, hurt. I was confused. I wish things were different if I should’ve been more myself and open with him, show him my goofy side... the lack of communication was there usually with people I can be outgoing or talkative if I feel comfortable but I just never knew what to talk about with him and now that everything ended I realized how could’ve been more communicative. He then asked my friends how I was after which I don’t understand

I need opinions on the situation itself and what could have possibly been the reason why things ended
Hard to figure this out clearly. Sounds like he didn't appreciate the fact you are shy and is into someone more extroverted or outgoing, fact is some guys don't understand that all girls are not be all the same in their ways or personality. I also think he may be influenced by his loud friends too. I don't think the 4 days you were away were a factor. When he asked your brother about you talking at home, that kind of makes me think he didn't appreciate the quietness. Look, he may be cute but don't try to change to please a guy. I feel he's not good for you in the long run and you could end up hurt even. Why take that risk? There's other "cute" guys who will accept your shynes and be happy with that 100%. Just saying..... so try not to lose sleep over him ok

@nightowl99 thank you
Your very welcome. You deserve the best. and shyness is A-OK tbh!@Judemaixcx
Sounds like he was just immature and maybe wanted things a lot faster than he got them and being a dumb guy he hopped on to the next thing. Us guys do a lot of dumb shit, especially when were in highschool. Don't think you did anything wrong.
@Judemaixcx yo I was a head of your time. Most girls mature faster than the guys for sure. I was maybe an exception but most of.my friends were definitely way behind in maturing 😂

@Judemaixcx Jesus I just realized i butchered that last response. It was supposed to say "I was ahead of my time" smh
Sounds like he felt you were avoiding him for those four days and/or had a boyfriend. Maybe he thought your budding romance was on more solid footing than you did.

The problem I see is that, as you explain the situation, you DIDN'T owe him anything at that point. Maybe you should've called your friend and asked her to explain things...but he sounds maybe controlling.

@Mamapolo2016 thank you. I can say he was childish most of the time and people who knew him ended up telling me he was never ready for a relationship
Most often, when people behave that way, they've done you a favor.@Judemaixcx

his friends. It seems. At the game maybe you weren’t as talkative as he’d like and his friends pointed it out. He also asked your brother if you talk at home. So it seems like a problem. And instead of explaining or talking things over with you, he simply says “im done talking to you.” Im sorry. But he doesnt really seem worth it.

You were being yourself relevant to the situation and circumstances... don’t regret that...
He sounds a little iffy IMO

That is really weird. First off sorry for you having to go through this. I really hate when my emotions are played and manipulated with. Second it sounds like he's hiding something. He could have had more manners breaking it off but it sounds like trouble. You are probably better off without him. It hurts I know but in the long run you'll be thankful

“I’m done talking to you.” If one of your friends told you that they were treated like that,I bet you'd tell them that he is an @sshole.
I think you dodged a bullet. There are plenty of people out there who you'd be more compatible with. If he contacts you again, tell him you're not interested.

@Judemaixcx You're welcome. Remember that you deserve better than that kind of BS.
The lack of communication was what caused the problems. He could have discussed this further with you or you with him. Sounds like whatever could have been is over. You both are young. Explanations were awkward, unsaid. Move on. Teens do not communicate well. That's a fact.
