some facts about you

So a lot of people here seem to judge others solely by their opinions here and act as if they know everything about you based on opinions you may have.
got me thinking, most of the time you only really see opinions from people on here and not so much people themselves giving a insight into them personally.
so care to share some facts about yourself here?

I will start
English is not my native language.

moved countries when i was 6 years old

I have 3 jobs. Security, merchandizing and brewing Mead.

I live in a small town

I have 2 brothers and one sister

My parents are still happily married

Grew up extremely poor

Cut off most of family

used to travel back home to Norway yearly but with the price increase of everything gone up. That is not really doable anytime soon, havent lived there since i was 6 yet still get homesick.

alright well that might be enough

Yeah, okay, fine.

English is my native language, specifically American English. I used to be conversationally fluent in Spanish, but I fell out of practice.

People ask me if I've lived in the US my whole life. I usually answer, "Not yet..." More specifically, because it is a huge country, I live in the Pacific northwest. Sherwood, Oregon, to be exact. Probably about 20 or so miles from where I was born.

I've had one job that wasn't in the employ of my father. I didn't do so great. Not for the reason most people assume, but because workplace politics. I was a security guard at a car battery plant, and the company wanted to put all old people on the shift I was working. No idea what Grandma or Grandpa are going to do in the event of an emergency, but whatever. These days, I'm basically a personal assistant for my dad. I help him manage his properties and his diabetes.

I've lived in relatively small towns my whole life.

I'm adopted. My parents were going to adopt another child, but I started displaying signs of behavioral disorders when I was quite young.

Grew up relatively well off. Middle class, I guess you'd say.

Most of my family cut me off after I went to prison. My parents are the exception. They let me move back in with them, which is why I feel obligated to help my dad.

Only other country I've ever been to is Canada. Been there twice, and if they let felons expatriate there, I might. It's absolutely beautiful.

You didn't mention your religion in this post, but I already know it from having read your bio, so it's only fair that I share mine.

I grew up nominally Christian, meaning my mom made us go to church until I was old enough to kind of stop going. I lapsed and basically became an agnostic atheist for a while. In 2001, a cousin of mine convinced me to try Christianity again. He inadvertently fooled me, because as I was going through the prayer with him, he got excited and started putting out huge waves of joyous energy. I assumed the feeling I got was Yahweh welcoming me to his fold. While I was in prison, I studied a lot. I read the Bible three times clear through, and then started reading about some of the specific books of the Bible. What I came away with was that it was a cobbled-together collection of mythology, some of which was older than Judaism, let alone Christianity, so I started attending Wiccan services. Right now, you could call me an eclectic neopagan with Wiccan leanings, but it's still just a tad more complicated. I've reached the conclusion that the gods as we understand them are all egregores, energy beings created either deliberately or inadvertently by a group of people. That's why they need the prayers of the faithful. They quite literally feed on them.

@LordShadowfire wow you are actually a very interesting person. clearly shows I was wrong about you in a lot of cases but that is where assumptions normally get us instead of actually listening to that person.
My apologies for that.

how did you find working for your father?
You sound like a good son being there for him and taking care of him

how long were you in prison?
what a dumb thing for a family to cut someone off for, no offence

yes i dont ever normally bring up my religious views because I am a firm believer of not throwing that in others faces or anything of that nature. They're my own beliefs and views and i keep them as such
That is cool you were open to learning other religions though and have your own theories on them.

Likewise.

He can be a very difficult boss. He's a micromanager, and it seems sometimes like he changes his mind every two seconds.

Wouldn't trade it for the world, and I'll kill anyone who tries to hurt him.

Couple of years, for trying to sell cannabis to an off-duty police officer. 🤦‍♂️
what a dumb thing for a family to cut someone off for, no offence
Yeah... I wasn't that close with most of them, though.

Which is exactly why I usually don't share them unless asked. But I will argue all day with Christians who don't have enough sense to keep their faith and let others keep theirs.

@LordShadowfire I really really like your beliefs about gods being egregores. I totally relate.

@LordShadowfire Your father sounds a lot like mine. I used to work for him for a short run when he bought a restaurant. One of the worst jobs I have ever had. Maybe its just my family but working with family was a nightmare.
that is good despite what you said, that you would not change it for the world. Again you sound like a good son.

to a off duty police officer? haha talk about bad luck
that sucks

meh your family's loss in that case, not yoursit y

I would never have guessed you were religious. Good job keeping that behind doors so to speak.
I used to do the same thing with Christians like that, but truly is just a waste of time. I dont have the patience with them anymore
