The smartest people I know are the least confident in their knowledge. Merely by having a firmer grasp of just how much they don't know tends to bring an awareness of their own fallibility.
Usually the "geniuses" who aren't aware of their blindspots aren't really geniuses. They just have enough confidence and charisma to convince others that they are.
