Because our vision(eyes) contributes to highest percentage in making our perception, i.e. 30%

@Ghostinthemachine You are right. From where I heard it was 30% for vision. But I just googled and it tells completely different.

Sight: About 80% of information
Hearing: About 10% of information
Smell, touch, and taste: The remaining 10% of information
