... AKA: U.N.C.L.E. No judgement if you did. See, I feel that if I was a young adult in 1965, I might have been suckered in by that line in the end credits of the TV Show The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
that went something like
We wish to thank the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement
But since I never saw the show until I was about 40, I saw it for what it was: a gimmick.

However, I think there's more to it than being of mellowed age. We all know the effects of the Internet; the... epistemological chaos it's caused. In my case, it may have also made me more discerning and skeptical. I believe that if I was 40 in 1965, I just might have been open to the existence of a United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. What references would I have had to suspect that I should have already heard of such an organization if it ever existed? At the same time, if I was 18 in 2023, I think I would have had those references and been dismissive of it.

It was something more like....
"We wish to thank the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement without whose help, this program would not have been possible."
and yes, I was suckered, too, when I saw it.

@Glossy I was as well - I was eleven years old at the time, and I was an avid fan of the show.

But I sure enjoyed having that lunch box even though I didn't understand that that was a TV show. I just thought it was pretty cool.
@Disgustedman ah yes, the lunch boxes. I had a deprived childhood. I could have killed for a Six Million Dollar Man or Star Wars lunch box
