Fun fact rainfall!

Rainfall measured in inches is measured based on a catchment area contained within a circle catchment are with diameter 8 inch (203cm) and 50.33 sq. in. (324.7 cm²) such that 1 inch of rainfall falling on a 2000 sq foot area would collect to be 1250 gallons of water

@exchrist i did the training with the NOAA to be a volunteer weather spotter and they require an approved rain gauge to report rainfall to them
