Kimmel’s Charlie Kirk comment compared to DJT’s John McCain comment?

So a late night host that “makes light” of an act of violence gets censored/suspended (and reinstated) has to apologize, profusely, live on the air. Yet when a senile old man (now president) blatantly insults a respected war veteran and civil servant (John McCain) DJT never has to acknowledge what a jackass he was for being insensitive; it’s considered “just another day”.
The double standard is striking. For old man Trump it’s excusable as attention seeking by an insensitive senile old man, but a legit observation by a talented comedy host is blown out of proportion? Seems like yet another distraction from Mr. Trumps’ disregard for tradition decency and respect (as well as the law). Selectively enforcing freedom of speech while never acknowledging the worse violation from an unpopular and unduly selected politician.

We all know that for Republicans, the only "free speech" is their speech.
