No. I do think they should be taxed on properties they take off the market and leave vacant for long period of time. Empty store fronts and vacant housing are on blight on a community.
FYI Private Equity firms are the real villains in the housing market. They buy up houses and apartment building by the thousands. They either leave them empty (as a place to park cash), or rent them out at exorbitated rates.
