Are we still in a pandemic, or what?

Haven’t heard the word mentioned since summer...and most ppl don’t wear masks anymore!

Triple. And it's okay. People want death, not socialism or public medical care.

Point taken@Roundandroundwego

Last week, I had an appointment with my cardiologist in the morning. My daughter and I wore masks. We were almost the only ones in the cardiology center who was wearing them.

In the afternoon, I had an appointment with my nephrologist. A much smaller building, but everyone was wearing masks and the sign was still on the door that masks are required.

I guess the medical profession can't even make up their minds.

Here we have to comply, or they won’t let u in.@Roundandroundwego

@notyouraveragedummy hospitals and dr offices mandate masks.
@Roundandroundwego You hate every single American. The good ones, the bad ones, and the young innocent ones? Most ridiculous!

Lots of talk of the local "tridemic" -- COVID, Flu, and some childhood respiratory disease I've never heard of before. The news just announced the first child to die of the flu this "season". :( All doctors' offices, hospitals, etc., require masks here, but not stores.

@ChipmunkErnie It'll be interesting to see how China will play in to this. They're anticipating a huge outbreak. I read 1 million deaths in 2023. And given how this virus travels I think it's safe to say we're not out of the woods globally. Meld it in to flu and RSV and it could be a really rough winter for a lot of people.

@Ynotisay Ah, "RSV" -- that's the one I couldn't remember. Don;t think I'd ever heard of it until a couple of months ago.

Same here@ChipmunkErnie

its still high! but the vaccines work well, but also not well. since most are still based on old virus and not the old one! so they won't work as well but now everyone has natural defence since they had it!
also since the new covid is here and spreads more its more dominant but the reason it spreads more is because it doesn't live in the lungs anymore but in the sinuses! so more sneezed out but less hurtful
Wiseacre · F
Right on...I had omicron and there was no lung involvement.@popmol

@Wiseacre which is great :)
Ynotisay · M
I believe it's in an endemic stage right now. Still killed 700 Americans yesterday.
Ynotisay · M
@Wiseacre So? Hundreds die from it every day. I'm not sure of the downside of considering the realities and lives of others. But there must be one.
Wiseacre · F
My comment did not undermine ppl dying..[i just know omicron attacks the throat and sinuses, not lungs.@Ynotisay]
Ynotisay · M
@Wiseacre OK. Thanks for that. But just to toss it out there, there's new Omicron variants that have adapted to attack the lungs as well as the upper respiratory. It's not as prevalent as the current strain but growing. Doesn't matter though. It's Covid.
