Don't be a title...just....BE

Cultural conditioning....

Seems that in our productivity-driven society, the first question isn’t...

Who are you?

It’s.... “What do you do?”

People comply automatically...even when it doesn’t truly define them.

Cuz' it never will.

We are all human beings...

Not human doings.

Well Punxi, you make a good point. I do not think anyone could argue.
It is hard to not want a title though. This got me thinking.
I thought long and hard. Yeah I know, "that is what she said" (who is that mysterious woman "she" anyways?)

I though about it for a GOOD five seconds, and I decided what I want to be. I want to be... an airborne ranger!

Absolutely! I saw someone during Christmas who I hadn't seen for years, went over and said hello, his first question was 'where are you working now, still welding?' after I'd asked him how life was treating him.
I'd rather push work to one side when socialising and talk about the person, not their job but salary and status is an obsession with most people now.

@RodneyTrotter1 Indeed, most unfortunately.

I could write a comprehensive thesis solely based upon the psychological diagnosis of those whom find it necessary to share the amount of their salary. 🤔

@Punxi Or the price of their latest holiday abroad, how much they owe on their mortgage, the interest rate on their car, whilst constantly 'checking the time' on a tacky looking Rolex watch that they're probably killing themselves to pay for.
Such shallowness, so boring.

Had an instructor tell me once if I didn’t think about my job 24/7, I was in the wrong job. He needed some serious help.

My job doesn’t define me.

100% spot on. I've long thought these exact thoughts❣🥂

I'm a dad, I'm a son, I'm a brother; I'm just me.

@HowtoDestroyAngels No one can do you...like you can. 👍🏻

What does anyone do really? I mean unless you are a doctor or scientist there's really nothing you can do that I couldn't do in 3 months of training.
