How being honest can be rewarded with kindness

Yesterday we went to the beach. Unfortunately, the only car park (there was nothing else for a considerable distance, this beach being on a reserve) only took cash and not card. We thought we might have some cash in one of our bags in the trunk, so the lady gave us a ticket and said to come back once we'd found the cash.

However, upon searching through our bags, we found we had no cash after all. We made to leave and I took the ticket back to the lady and explained. She said, "oh well, you had the intent to pay. In that case, the parking is on me today!"

The cost of the parking was not inconsiderable so we were delighted and, after thanking her profusely, had a fantastic day!

Honesty rewarded with kindness. Good to see 😊

A little old lady in front of me at the checkout line at the supermarket didn't have enough money. She was trying to explain to the clerk and decide what she could afford. I stepped forward and said I would pay the difference. Everyone thought I was an angel. I probably shouldn't have added I was tired of standing in line.

That is wonderful..that can really reaffirm there IS goodness out there.
I once was being discharged in the early morning from an overnight stay at the hospital. I had come by ambulance so didn't have my wallet..had to call a cab home. Once I got home I told him 'Let me get my wallet and I'll be right out for the fare.'
He said 'No no it's ok '

I replied..no it's right inside!and I owe you a tip!
He said again ' No really it's ok ...it's ok ...no problem.'
That was such a kind gesture especially right out of the hospital. There are good folks out there😊

@Starcrossed Paying it forward. THAT'S what it's all about. It's so easy but carries so much weight.

That's really cool. I hope you can return this good deed. With another good deed, and help someone out in need.

I ordered lunch one time and after waitress brought to me I realized I left my money on the counter at home, I told the lady I would drive home and get it, as I was walking out the door an older man said wait I'll buy it for you, and he did. I thanked him and left
