My late grandfather(s) they are aware of the presence of aswang(s)..
They had lived in the pre-war years they had seen an aswang in their town. They used to tell me horror stories about aswang when I was a little kid, while having my summer vacation in their farm/retirement house.
It was scary because before the American era they had encountered aswang(s)/ cursed lineages in their town.
They said an aswang cannot look directly in your eyes. They stink which is true!
