The trouble is, I'm feeling low these days myself - and almost everybody seems to be worse off than me. How can any of us help each other if things are bad everywhere?

One way would be to chat and share our experiences. Try to offer comfort in letting others know they are not alone. That they have someone willing to listen and who might understand our struggles.
@SmartKat I wouldn't go looking for people to help. Just help those who come into your orbit, and only if you have the energy. When you are low, you need to keep your reserves of energy.
