Oof It's the later generations I see as the suckers letting the lame education system brainwash them without questioning what they are lead to believe. Example : socialism

@Gibbon A lot has changed since 2020 though. There are many gen z who woke up and many more waking up every day. Be aware this is a very large "anti-woke" movement in gen z, and large numbers who have moved conservative. They attacked the games - big mistake.

@Magicianzini 🙏
The last aide i had .. it seemed like every week when she showed up this lady was having to have her bank account fixed or a charge on it refuted bc she kept clicking shit she saw on facebook or signing up for some "good deal" and then she'd come in crying and spend nearly the whole time crying and saying she didn't know what she was going to do. I worry about people like that.
But also, when it comes to younger people, i worry about the fact that so many completely fail to question ANYTHING to the point where they just let themselves be taken in by the craziest stuff. hell i still wonder how people are getting catfished on here when they're legitimately so obvious. That's just a small example of how easily young and old CAN be snowed.

There are gaps to this post’s assumption:
1. Broad generalizations
The post treats “boomers” and “the elderly” as one uniform group, and it assumes gullibility is the explanation rather than one of several possible factors.
2. Targeted vs Victimhood
It confuses targeting with victimhood. Scammers often target older adults because they may have savings, may be more polite or trusting, and may be less familiar with newer scam formats, but that does not mean all older adults are gullible.
3. Assumed age as the cause
Research points to specific risk factors such as loneliness, social isolation, memory or cognitive changes, and fast-changing technology, rather than age by itself.
Instead of “Why are boomers so gullible?”,
A better question would be:
Why are older adults disproportionately targeted by modern scams, and what makes some of them more vulnerable than others?
That framing is more accurate and avoids turning a serious issue into a blanket insult.
Not all older adults are vulnerable, and not all younger people are careful.

So you work with older people on a daily basis and are asking why they are not as familiar with the internet and AI or with the newer scams out there?
Really?
Really?

their mind and ability to process diminishes with age. ai and scammers are becoming extremely realistic now, not all.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
Do you think older people being scammed is something new? Scammers mostly choose targets based on where the money is. Older people tend to have more wealth, savings and valuables than younger people.

Socialism kills
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Having observed you enough now and knowing you are not in the US I have determined that it is you that is gullible for buying into the socialism bullshit.
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
I've noticed that older people are more likely to be more trusting. Maybe the world was different back then. No idea.
craig7 · 70-79, M
@separatetheheart Yes,I think you have something there. Of course, there have always been con artists and tricksters of one sort or another, but yes,in times past there was somewhat more of an assumption of trust in the honesty of other people.
separatetheheart · 31-35, M
@craig7 Yeah maybe back then all anyone had was their word and the mindset was about seeing the good in others vs the trust nobody mindset I was raised with

Not gullible enough to see through this comment.

Not just the boomers though is it.
These pages often have tales of woe on exactly this subject and most from women.
All looking for an ideal that probably doesn't exist in real life only the fantasy world online where anyone can create any persona they like and not have to live up to any of it in reality
