The Gullibility of "Boomers".

I actually know a few, because I work with them. Literally everyone at my shop is older than I am; I'm the youngest there.
Anyway, my concern is this; why are they so gullible? Especially when it comes to anything to do with the internet or AI.
We often hear of the elderly being taken in my romance scammers from Russia, or fake Nigerian princes offering them millions of dollars, and I've often wondered why that's the case, especially considering the fact they've been around far longer than most of us alive now, and so therefore should be a little less naive because of that.

Any ideas? I'm at a loss to explain this (very weird) phenomenon.

Brain death?

I've noticed that older people are more likely to be more trusting. Maybe the world was different back then. No idea.

Oof It's the later generations I see as the suckers letting the lame education system brainwash them without questioning what they are lead to believe. Example : socialism
@Gibbon Socialism isn't necessarily dictatorial, but of course if one's education system is really shoddy and screwed up, like it apparently is in the USA, then of course you will end up with citizens who don't know that. ANY political system can end up being "one step away from a dictatorship", a prime example of this being the Trump regime that currently occupies the White House.

@Gibbon "We're finished" - Translation: I can't rebut your points, I can't think of anything else to say that won't expose my sheer ignorance of this topic, so I'm going to chicken out while I can.

Not just the boomers though is it.
These pages often have tales of woe on exactly this subject and most from women.

All looking for an ideal that probably doesn't exist in real life only the fantasy world online where anyone can create any persona they like and not have to live up to any of it in reality
