@LordShadowfire besides I even made bad choices in life that had bad consequences people make choices all the time. We make choices each time we do something the consequences ( or the outcome) makes up life. I shouldn’t have to explain that

We're talking about people who had only ever known life in the United States, being given a choice of taking a dangerous boat ride across the Atlantic Ocean to a continent they had never been to in their lives, in order to try to establish a colony in what I can only assume was still untamed jungle, or remain in the US, where they had been assured that racism would be over after the Civil War.

You don't [i]get[/i] to say that the black people who remained here deserved to be treated like shit by white people. And if you can't see how blaming black people for racist treatment of black people is racist, then maybe you need to get a CAT scan to see how much of your stroke-addled brain is left.

Imagine that you've been in captivity your entire life, since birth. Now there's a war going on between two halves of the country. The president of one half of the country is demanding that people like you be free to pursue whatever you want. The president of the other half thinks you should continue to be enslaved.

Well, the good guys win, and you're told that things are going to be better from now on. But now you've got a choice. Some of your fellow former slaves are going to buy a ship, travel across the ocean to a continent to which you've never been, and establish a colony. That's a lot of work, building a village out of nothing. Or you can remain where you are, because the president promised that things are going to be better now. So you choose to stay where you are, and try to establish a life for yourself.

But it turns out you were lied to. You're no longer a slave, sure, but that's a technical difference. Nobody will hire you to do any work for money, because they don't like the color of your skin. And the police treat you like absolute garbage, again because you've got the wrong color skin. You end up in a privately owned for profit prison, because the police arrested you for public gum chewing or something similarly stupid. So now you're back to being forced to work for free. Nothing is different. You were lied to.

Now, since you were lied to, can you be blamed for the choice you made? Or was it a false choice based on lies in order to trick you?
