I Hate Gender Roles And Stereotypes

I really struggle with this one and I have all of my life. I never quite fit the assigned role for me growing up. I've listened many times the positive messages of "you do you" but can still hear the echoes of less obvious cues that tell a very different message. I'm reminded again and again that terms like "quirky" and "different" aren't messages of acceptance. They hold hidden agendas behind them to let me know I do not fit what is expected. I like these things about myself, but deep inside I know I would be happier if I were just "normal".

I always enjoyed the company of quirky women and found normal boring. Generally the quirky type is more intelligent and thinks on more things in depth.

@th3r0n I hope I can live up to that assessment.
