I like learning from ex Maga and their views, what helped them out of the cult.

Today I learned that critical race theory was started in schools because when schools were integrating with mixed races, a bunch of white Christians got together and built their own schools. There is one in every county and they are named after the writers of the declaration of Independence. They are still around today. So when race theory was getting attacked by much the same people it was disheartening to see as basically that's what racist whites did before.

Kinda wild.

I when to two elementary schools. The first was called Paul Revere. The second was called Benjamin Franklin. Both were public schools. And both were mixed races. They are still around today, the last time I checked. They are in a Republican county still.

I can't see your video. Yet something isn't showing the whole picture in your statement.

I had Blacks, Hispanics and Orientals in the first school. One of the Orientals was a pretty close friend. So was one of the Hispanics. Even their names reflected their races.

The later Hispanic's sister recently wrote on my classmates.com profile in fact.

The second elementary school I only went to one year, in the second grade. I really don't remember anyone off the bat at the second school. Yet it was no different than the first as far as races.

@DeWayfarer Check out the private schools. Public schools couldn't dodge federal law. Places like Jefferson Academy in North Denver and Madison Christian School in Columbus.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@RosaMarie Any school with "Christian" in it's name is well known to be such schools.

Heck I once worked as a temp in such a school. They eventually quietly got rid of both of us when they found out that I was wiccan. 😈

Temporary workers all they have to do is place a DNR with the Temp agency. No reason given. Neither federal or state laws matter with temporary agencies. The temp agency just sends you somewhere else. You're neither laid off or fired.

@DeWayfarer The video is talking about Derrick Bell, the man behind CRT and schools that happened below. The ex maga person is just saying what he found when he looked up the history of how the theory originated.

They also said the 1954 ruling “is destroying the amicable relations between the white and Negro races” and was “certain to destroy the system of public education in some of the States.” Finally, the document praised Southern states “which have declared the intention to resist forced integration by any lawful means.” It foreshadowed a host of moves by Southern politicians in states like Alabama, Arkansas, and Virginia to oppose the integration of public schools.

"Any lawful means" was resisting by naming schools after slave traders.

@SatanBurger This whole issue, not just the schools, will never get resolved until certain things are done about racist issues within the constitution itself.

1 Totally remove the ⅗ths clause from the constitution.

2 Separate the 14th amendment into two parts. The civil liberties of the people from the corporate rights.

3. Include an amendment that covers something similar to DEI.

The first two issues are a literal slap in the face to the racial segregation. Corporate rights were put in the 14th specifically as a slap in the face after the 14th amendment was first made.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer While we're fixing the 14th Amendment, let's axe the part that allows prisoners to be used as slave labor. First of all, hard labor hasn't been proven an effective rehabilitation tool, and second, we all know it's been abused.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire That and axe corporate rights all together. No corporation is a human being. Just a concept.

That was why it's so offensive being in the 14th amendment.

Giving rights to concepts than slaves is totally offensive to the slaves. Being in there is like being the equivalent as a human being.

That as well gave ground to the concept of Political Action Committees aka PACs.

Just another way to take away Rights from people.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer We can't forget to take the axe to Citizens United while we're at it. A corporation is not a person.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire I don't care what that PACs is. They shouldn't be influencing Congress members against their own voters wishes.

Congresss members should only answer to their own constituents. No one else. Not even the president.

They have proven to not have any balls over the president situation already.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer I'm referring to a Supreme Court decision. Please look it up.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire It's a PAC never the less.

Citizens United PAC
Characteristics of Citizens United PAC

Type: Political Action Committee (PAC)

Function: Citizens United PAC raises funds to support candidates aligned with its conservative values and to promote its political agenda.

Funding: The PAC can accept unlimited contributions from individuals, corporations, and unions, which is a direct result of the Citizens United ruling.

PACs are immoral along with corporations. They are designed to take away Rights of the individual people.

Do you know why corporations exist? It's because people wouldn't work for the businesses.

Economic Incentives

Protection of Business Interests: After the Civil War, there was a strong desire to encourage economic development and investment in infrastructure. Businesses and corporations lobbied for protections that would allow them to operate with stability and predictability.

Legal Recourse: Recognizing corporations as legal persons under the 14th Amendment enabled them to claim judicial protections, ensuring they could seek compensation and enforce contracts. This was essential for economic growth, as it encouraged investments by ensuring businesses could recover damages if wronged.

Facilitation of Commerce: By ensuring that corporations had the same legal protections as individuals, the amendment aimed to create a more favorable business environment, which was deemed essential for economic recovery and growth post-Civil War.

The greed of business was why they were created. In retaliation for removal of slavery.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer Correct. However, what I'm referring to is the Supreme Court decision for which that disgusting PAC was responsible.

Here's a website that breaks it down.

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/citizens-united-explained

It's basically putting the parts we've already complained about in the 14th Amendment into a decision by the SC in order to further strengthen corporation and wealthy donors at the expense of you and me.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire Remove the whole section dealing with corporations would eliminate all of that though. It would leave the supreme Court TOTALLY out of the whole issue.

They wouldn't be able to even make a ruling on any of that. PACs, corporations and all of it.

This should have been handled by Congress and only Congress. With laws.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer You make a compelling point. Removing that part of the 14th Amendment would nullify the Supreme Court decision. I like that.

Good luck with any of it, though, because our government is bought and paid for by corporations.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire oh it wouldn't get rid of corporations. No other countries have such ridiculous rights in their constitutions, yet they still exist in every nation around the world. Including China.

They did it the correct way through laws and regulations.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DeWayfarer I'm saying that doing anything even close to what other countries have done to rein in the powers of these corporations is going to be difficult.

Please note that I'm still in favor of giving it the old college try. But it's going to be hard.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire That it will be!
