So you assume that eating human flesh is morally ok under some conditions...
Did you just read Alive!???

@SomeMichGuy how is it any different than eating an animal? Morally?
SomeMichGuy · M
@Ferise1 I am just pointing out an assumption of the question.

@SomeMichGuy yeah you don’t want to have that talk do you?

@SomeMichGuy What do you mean if I read alive?
By morally okay I mean in a made up scenario where the person wanted to be eaten (dead, not alive lol). 😆

@Ferise1 I think it can be argued that eating your own species is always morally wrong, for example some people refuse to feed their pigs pig meat, because they don't even like the thought of their farm animals eating their own species lol. I personally would never eat dog, cat, or horse, however I wouldn't have a problem with eating human. I wonder if that's because I have liked my pets more than I've ever really liked another person. 😅

@Nightwings listen to Gary yourovsky it’s speciesism
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@Ferise1 I would argue that favoritism in the animal kingdom isn't exactly the same as speciesism, e.g. I don't think dogs are more worthy of living than cows are, I've just been much closer with dogs than I have ever been with any cow. Don't get me wrong, I do like cows, and I am 100% against mass producing meat, but I am okay eating cow sometimes, even if I pet them too.
As for other people saying eating human is immoral, uncouth, or gross, I think what they object to is mainly the cannibalism aspect of it, but what do I know... I would totally eat some stupid person and pair their meat with a cheap hot sauce, as a last "F you" to them. 🤣

@Nightwings cows have the same emotional capabilities as a dog
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@Ferise1 I know, that's why I'm against farms where they stand in tiny stalls and all that. I would never torture any animal, even though I am okay with occasionally killing them for food.

@Nightwings Alive! is the true story of survivors of a plane crash in the Andes (I think) where they finally started eating thin strips of the dead.
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@SomeMichGuy Oh that sounds curious, I'm gonna download it. 😄
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@Nightwings it’s awesome
SomeMichGuy · M
@Nightwings I think it gives a real-world example of what you are talking about.

@SomeMichGuy I love watching documentaries about people in crazy survival situations, like being stranded on the ocean, or lost in the wilderness in Alaska or in a jungle or something, stuff like that in general.

@Nightwings I think that many people seem to underestimate
- effort required to do EVERYTHING to survive by oneself / physical fatigue
- mental fatigue / strain from no one else with whom to interact
- how additive small issues are

@SomeMichGuy Oh yes I certainly wouldn't want to find myself in a situation like that, I just think it's interesting to hear about other people who did. 👀
