I'm afraid that the Israelis have doomed themselves to having tens of thousands of new enemies by randomly killing innocents while seeking vengence. I know they do not consider the man Jesus (if he ever really existed) as being the messiah but the truths expressed in the parables for how to treat others and the sermon on the mount are powerful. Turning the other cheek does not mean forgetting, but forgiveness is a powerful response. The marshall plan in Europe after WWII and the Berlin airlift were unusual responses to aggression that prevented decades of war. By not doing this Israel now faces an inevitable consequence of unimaginable retribution. It may even have been an existential decision that was wrong. They can drive everyone in Gaza into the sea but in doing so I fear they have sealed their own fate. Kindness or retribution? Those were the choices. They chose wrong. From this we must learn and use the lesson to prevent a similar dilemma with Taiwan and other hot spots.

They've been warring for thousands of years. At what point does the honus fall on them for perpetuating the war?
Personally, I think the Palestinians are being subjugated to tyranny and terrorism. Esp. when one sees how the hasidic Jews treat "interlopers". But I don't see why the Palestinians stay.
I blame their religions more than anything.
