Would you go ?

I just got invited to a graduation party
My Ex
Her new girlfriend
Her old girlfriend ( the married woman who used to be my friend )
and a whole bunch of other people that don’t like each other but are all my friends
are going to be there too .
I care too much about the graduate and her family to not go to that event but I have a feeling it’s going to be a sh** show 🙁
Gangstress · 41-45, F
i would avoid that at all costs if that was me
Fluffybull · F
@Gangstress Me too! 😱😱😱
Gangstress · 41-45, F
unless there is a lot of alcohol then I may go lol @Fluffybull
Niloo · 46-50, F
@Gangstress
I have 1 month to think this over 😅
Maybe I can hide in a corner …
hyg346 · 41-45, M
No. Lol I wouldn't.
Niloo · 46-50, F
@hyg346
😅

I would go, pay my respects to the graduate and her family, and then leave, saying you have a prior commitment.
CP4Life · 51-55, M
Sounds like drama waiting to happen, Id give it a miss.
Fluffybull · F
@CP4Life Yep, a lot of tension, fuelled by alcohol .....😱
Niloo · 46-50, F
@Fluffybull
I mean
It would be fun if the girlfriends got into a fight !😬
Ok
Maybe not
It would ruin the party …
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Id stay home in peace.
Niloo · 46-50, F
@Eddiesolds
The problem is , due to Covid, there were not many big parties but they are starting back up and if I want to avoid the situation I’d have to stay away from all gatherings :(
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
@Niloo Well then you better go. You dont have to stay all night though. You could leave early.lol
Show up, have a drink, make some small talk with your friends and stay long enough to adequately congratulate the graduate.....

And then "Have another 'graduation celebration' you must attend"
Niloo · 46-50, F
@Threepio
That would be the most logical and politically correct way .
Hopefully I’ll have the emotional strength to do that 😅
Freeranger · M
I'd not go, but set up a smaller party for that family and the freshly minted grad a lil' later on. Parties like these seem to be in the news for someone coming in and shootin' up the joint.
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
Please tell me there will be lots of alcohol
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@Niloo that should smooth over all the hard feelings
Niloo · 46-50, F
@JohnnyNoir
Lol!
It won’t
But I’m a happy drunk ! I’ll be too busy dancing to care 😬
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@Niloo then dance away while the others have at it then
SW-User
do they have a good sense of humor though?
If yes, go! ..
If not, go but keep silent :)
Niloo · 46-50, F
@SW-User
I do!!
I have that and the 🥤
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
Yikes.
Sounds like fuuunnnn
🤦‍♀️
Good luck with that

Then go, and go there looking better than the best. Hold your head up high, show how unaffected you are. Be kind, be generous, be gracious.
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
There’s a good chance your feelings will happen. Go for the grad and her family and ignore the rest!!
melbeacher · 61-69, M
Laughing. I am going to the same type of graduation party this weekend.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Only you can control you...so go and don't let things get to you.
